_QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE?

Who are Lou Camino and Coralie Vincent?

Graduate in physics, scientific journalism and sociology of film, Lou Camino is, in particular, an author and a photographer. Curious by nature, passionate and a dreamer, she wishes to test a life-size experiment of a collective creation through the project Objectif3280.

Thanks to her interdisciplinary training (audiovisual, instrumentation, computing, cognition, music), Coralie Vincent manages the technical aspects of research projects in humanities and/or art on different subjects and at the intersection of arts and sciences.

Why stopping at 8 generations and 3 echoes only?

Simply because, the higher these numbers are, the more complicated the operation gets. Let’s do some maths! The first picture has three potential echoes, which have themselves three echoes, that is to say nine in all, which have themselves three potential echoes so 27 and so on. If the 8th generation is complete, it will be composed of 2 187 pictures. And, at the end, if no lineage has been stopped, our tree will gather 3 280 pictures.

A mountain from here, but whose ascent is progressive, so that the efforts to reach the summit are divided. We could have limited the descendance to one or two echoes but the project would not have reached the interactivity and created the fascinating stories that lead to the success of the two first editions.

What happens if a picture has no echo, or only one or two?

Some lineages will be probably more inspiring than others. If there is no echo for a picture, the lineage will stop there. If there is one or two, the lineage will go on. In both cases, the final amount of pictures will be drastrically reduced.

What will happen to the pictures once Objectif_3280 is over?

You can see the echo-photographic trees of the first editions here.

The possibilities are huge. A video with the photopoems ? An ebook or a book ? I also hope an exhibition (it was also the case with edition n°2) but the place has yet to been found and must be big! So, if you have or know a place, or are interested in the project, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
